Hello, I was hoping someone could tell me what the problem is and how much it will cost to fix it.
Whenever I slow down and then try to accelerate while my BMW is in "Save Battery Mode," it begins to judder. Combustion Control: Idle Irregular is the diagnostic code that it has produced, which is 21A02D. I have taken the car to two different garages. The first one couldn't pinpoint the exact problem, so they couldn't give me an estimate. The second one replaced the spark plugs and said it still happens, but they still can't tell me what's wrong or what needs replacing. They suggested the gearbox as a possible culprit, but I'd rather not spend money on a gearbox overhaul if that isn't the case. The car performs fine in all other modes except the "Save Battery Mode," so I would have thought that if it were the gearbox, then it would be an issue regardless of mode of driving. Or am I mistaken?
Apologies, but I'm really curious to know if anyone else has experienced this problem and could possibly shed light on what the root cause was.

Without a proper scan of the fault codes, it's all guesswork. Not just any old service center, but a BMW specialist with actual expertise. Perhaps a primary dealer as well.
