Because my stop-start was malfunctioning, I had to get new batteries for both the main and backup systems.

Before installing the new battery, did you give it a charge? Recommendation offered continuously. Maybe the new battery isn't powerful enough, or maybe the problems started after you switched it. You can charge the battery while you're on the go, or you can plug it in when you get home if you don't have one. Remove all the codes and check if any of them reappear. These days, voltage is a major issue for contemporary Mercedes and, by extension, modern automobiles.

I was hoping someone could tell the car that it got a new battery.

How accurate is Ai's response?

In April of last year, I had to get a new AGM battery and have it paired with the vehicle.
I coded it simultaneously and got my indy to fit. It is recommended that AI be used.

Yes, I did that, but it had no impact. Also, both times I swapped out the battery sensor, it had no impact.

I was wondering if you let the vehicle idle for 30 minutes after changing the batteries. When the car doesn't go to sleep and the battery is pulled, U codes are typically seen.

Allow the vehicle to sit unlocked for 30 minutes before disconnecting the 12v+ and letting it sit for an additional 30 minutes. With any luck, clearing the codes will fix it.

If you change both batteries at once, you run the risk of damaging the vehicle and rendering it memoryless.
