You may find this site useful.

I worry that it could be too pricey. Good luck, and please update us.

What age? Apparently, you may ask for exemption if it's 40 years or older. However, it rather negates the purpose of ULEZ.MBcarOWNER wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 10:37 pm I was wondering if anybody here has tried modifying a classic w460 g wagon to make it ULEZ compliant ??

You wouldn't, why? It won't be economically feasible.MBcarOWNER wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 10:37 pm I was wondering if anybody here has tried modifying a classic w460 g wagon to make it ULEZ compliant ??

Perhaps because it is his pride and joy? Because it is unusual and one-of-a-kindGorrillaas wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 10:51 pmYou wouldn't, why? Would a G Wagon not be classified as a "agricultural truck serving a specialized purpose"? (tongue firmly planted in cheek)

The elderly woman I met last week drove a 1992 Cadillac that wasn't ULEZ compliant, but she managed to get the TFL to ultimately recognise it as compliance by taking them to court. This illustration demonstrates that, despite being convoluted, there exist instances.
There must be a means to alter the vehicle or install a filter to reduce emissions, then have the DVLA test the modified vehicle's emissions and approve it. Sadly, I can't locate ANY information on this online.

This has been debated extensively among many other G wagen owners I know, and it does not seem to be doable. Tech with over 33 years of experience.
I have 7 years till I am 40 and become exempt. So I'll drive my compliant SL55AMG 2003 in the zone and my old classic G wagen 280GE elsewhere until the zone is either dismantled or another mayor takes over and realizes what a waste of money it is/was.
