Hi everyone!
My old vehicle finally gave up the ghost, and I need a replacement as soon as possible so that I can go to work every day. I'm on a strict budget (no more than £1700/£3000), but I can't afford to wait any longer since I need a car to get to my job.
My last vehicle (a VW Golf) was plagued with troubles and became very costly to repair (gear box problems over the course of two years totaling over £7,000).
My budget is tight, but I'm trying to locate a vehicle that's dependable enough/not too costly to maintain, and I was wondering if anybody has any insight on the Peugeot 508.
Suggestions for a dependable, easily maintained, and affordably priced vehicle would also be appreciated.
Please accept my thanks in advance!

Is there a specific justification behind why you've decided to go with that model? Do you know someone who is selling one or someone who sells something similar? If you only need something to get about, a little car like a Peugeot 107, Citroen C1, or Toyota Aygo is probably your best pick.

That kind of budget is insane these days. Maintain simplicity. There is no diesel, no automatic, and no turbo. Ford Focus 1.6 petrol engines are virtually indestructible.

The same as above. In addition, I would expand the search to include the gasoline-powered Toyota Auris, Avensis, Honda Civic, Accord, and Mazda 3/6.DivineStripe wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 8:16 pm That kind of budget is insane these days. Do you need a vehicle the size of a 508? It's a little larger than a Golf, and since it's more upscale, it probably has a bunch of gadgets that are just waiting to break and cost a fortune to fix or replace. What year is the automobile you're interested in?
