Hello! I just acquired a 2019 Toyota Aygo automatic with barely 4000 miles on it.
My automobile has been faultless until recently when I detected a strong odour of cabbage or drainage when reversing on a slope to parallel park. I'm concerned about if this issue is anything I should be worried about. I've heard that it's a common occurrence with certain automobiles while reversing, and it's rather unpleasant. It has occurred many times lately when reversing or when my vehicle rolls back. Thank you
Unusual foul odour detected while vehicle is in reverse.

Acquire this for one of our other vehicles.
I see your point, and I agree that it is unpleasant.
Another individual may have other theories, but I personally think it is exhaust emissions from unleaded fuel, however I may be mistaken.

Are you certain it lacks the scent of rotting eggs? If so, the issue may be related to the catalytic converter.

The odour was reminiscent of cabbage rather than rotting eggs. I have seen this problem with the catalytic converter a few times. Should I be concerned, or is it OK to continue driving?

Have you inspected the cabin filter?

It is likely a mixture of exhaust fumes and/or catalytic converter emissions, which is typical and not a cause for concern.

If you recently purchased the automobile, I presume it was from a dealer and came with a warranty. It can be an isolated incident and not a cause for concern.
Have you detected a similar odour while reversing normally after it first occurred? If everything is in order, there is no need for concern. If you have, call the dealer and request them to inspect it for you.
Cars often emit intermittent odours, typically originating from external sources that enter via the ventilation system, leading to the perception that there may be an issue with the vehicle. Hopefully this is beneficial.

Hello! Thank you for responding. The issue occurs while my vehicle is in reverse, mostly on inclines but sometimes on level surfaces. It could occur while I am increasing the engine's revolutions significantly. If the issue occurs more often, I will certainly return the vehicle to the garage as it is covered by a guarantee.

It might be a combination of water, petrol fumes, and other exhaust gases mingling, especially if this occurs while the engine is cold.
Today, I saw an SUV at a traffic signal that emitted a significant quantity of water from its exhaust while accelerating quickly, like twin waterfalls.
