Hello. I have an unusual mark on the carbon fibre hood of my SVR. Land Rover said it is not covered by warranty, yet I found a Land Rover document that matches the symptoms. SSM 75913.

Has anybody else had this problem and were you able to get it repaired by LR under the extended warranty or did you have it fixed elsewhere?

How does that occur? Should it be repaired under warranty?

Based on the area, it seems that heat has caused damage that ruined the lacquer.

What component of the engine do you believe led to the heat problem?

The clear coat paint is flaking off the carbon fibre gel coat surface because of UV exposure. The issue arises due to the insufficient thickness of the transparent layer, which fails to provide enough UV protection. It should be completely fixable.
