The mileage on my cx30 exceeds 45000 miles, and the oil level indicator has consistently illuminated prior to almost every oil change. I recorded the mileage in the dealer's notes each time I scheduled an appointment for an oil change, when the warning light appeared. Mazda informed me that they have not yet identified the cause of the problem. During my most recent oil change, the dealer informed me that they need the light to be on in order to do the valve stem work. Presently, I have consumed more than a quart of liquid and the indicator light has turned on. While stopped at a traffic light, I capture a photograph of the dashboard displaying the illuminated indicators and the current miles. I came to a halt and turned off the engine. Following my stop, I proceeded to the dealership, but, the light did not illuminate. Upon arrival at the dealership, they inform me that the light has to be on in order to get the code. The image is unhelpful. My first inquiry is whether or not codes are kept. I believe the dealer is not responsible for the answer. This seems to be a strategic move made by the business entity. The corporate entity should provide the dealers more discretion in determining whether an automobile is deserving of repair. I have included the Mazda flowchart.

Based on my interpretation of the flow chart, if the seals have not been changed before, the dealer should proceed with replacing them. The seals were changed without any inquiries, based on the afflicted VIN number and my dealership history. However, Canadian dealers are willing to do warranty repair without any hesitation.

Request that they do an oil consumption test.

I believe it is unnecessary. The documentation should be sufficient. If my automobile has a verified Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), then the seal should be changed. An oil consumption test is conducted at 1243 miles, which seems to be a rather modest and random distance. Seals are changed when the oil level decreases by 8 ounces or more. What is the process for determining that? What would happen if an additional ounce of oil is added during an oil change?

Based on the postcard I received, it seems that if you have seen a premature low engine oil alert in the past (which I have encountered twice), it is recommended to have this replacement procedure performed. I came across a post on Reddit mentioning the existence of a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) associated with this issue. It is believed that this solution addresses the problem of excessive oil consumption. It seems that the 2023 and 2024 Turbo and Turbo Premium Plus versions have resolved this problem.

Best wishes in successfully completing the task. The dealer necessitates the presence of a functioning oil level light that operates when the oil level is low, along with a corresponding code. Additionally, they demand confirmation of low oil via a dipstick check. Obtaining the diagnostic code from the dealer when the oil light is on is more challenging than it may seem. If the indicator light is not on, it means that you need to have an oil change. Additionally, you will need to wait until you have driven 1243 miles in order to do an oil consumption test. If you eat less than 8 ounces, they will let you to go.

That is peculiar. I learned via a Reddit post that some merchants are willing to provide a replacement for your item. Currently, I am not seeing the low-engine-oil alert, although I have previously encountered this issue in the past. I contacted my most trusted supplier and the lady who responded to my call seemed to be completely uninformed about the matter...I am awaiting a call from a service adviser who will contact me after conducting an investigation. Laughing out loud. I am curious whether they will provide me with the same spiel.

A Canadian owner claimed that their dealer confirmed the validity of the vehicle identification number (VIN) and subsequently received the necessary repair.
