Today, I successfully installed a new 60ah H6 Antigravity battery. The installation process was really simple. Purchased from Red Mist Racing at a very favourable price and received the order promptly the following day. Additionally, a highly functional bluetooth tracker was included in the delivery. I have not had any problems with my original equipment manufacturer (OEM) battery. However, I have noticed that it is ageing, considering that my vehicle is a 2017 model. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with the reduction in weight that the new battery provides. I wanted to share my findings in case it is useful. I am grateful to the members of R8talk for providing installation instructions and support on previous topics.
The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) battery weighs 57.4 pounds.
The weight of the Antigravity 60ah is 19.0 lbs.

Pleasant. I am considering taking that path as well. Is it necessary to have the vehicle re-coded after installing the battery?

By what means did you arrive at the topic of battery?

It seems that accessing the battery in GEN 2 is much simpler compared to GEN 1.

I have an 80 ampere-hour battery scheduled to arrive on Monday for my 2008 vehicle. AG currently has a restricted inventory in their California warehouse, offering just two options: 80ah or 40ah.

I successfully implemented the directions provided by w cole in a thread from 2021. The process was straightforward and less challenging than anticipated. I did not reprogram the battery, I just connected it and the vehicle is functioning flawlessly.
1. Lift the hood.
2. Detach the lower felt piece from the frunk.
3. Extract the styrofoam component located underneath the previously removed felt piece from step 2.
4. Unfasten the battery door "window" and detach the ground lead connected to it.
5. Detach the light/12v cigarette lighter assembly by exerting force along the edge (it will easily disengage). Unplug the light and the cigarette lighter.
6. Detach the frunk surround with a "U" form in the following manner:
A. Use your fingers to lift the plastic top perimeter border of this "U" shaped component. The plastic "U" may be easily attached to the piece below it by clipping it in.
B. Lift the "U" piece slightly and then fold the two front sections of the piece inward towards each other in order to provide some space for movement.
Carefully lift the piece upwards, taking care to avoid any obstacles such as connections or other components along the rear side.
7. The battery will now be visible. The process of removing it is rather straightforward. I had a full disconnection without any apparent loss of settings. However, I cannot guarantee if the radio presets will be retained or not, since I do not use them.
8. Reassemble in reverse order. However, it is advisable to first detach the light from the cigarette lighter/light assembly. Then, insert the assembly back into the felt liner shaped like a "U" and last, reinstall the light. This provides you with the necessary permission to reattach the assembly securely onto the felt material... you will see the result.

A comprehensive book was written on the process of doing it using a Gen 1. You successfully completed the task with just a few paragraphs.

Removing the tub and accessing the batteries on a gen 1 often takes around 30 minutes, particularly if you carefully elevate the top plastic cover without removing the wipers.

Yes, it does. However, it typically takes 30 seconds for the majority of autos, around 99%. The first generation model had a significant setback due to the flawed construction and maintenance of the battery position.
Revision: The time it takes for my Rover to reach, replace, or jump the battery is significantly longer. The item is located under the passenger seat and can only be accessed by removing the seat and the secondary panel.

I wish you had recorded a video of the battery change. There are no videos available on YouTube for Generation 2.
