Hello everyone, I apologise if this question has previously been addressed. I have conducted some research but have not found relevant information for my circumstance. I hope you can assist me.

I own a 2002 E39 525i, and the cooling system malfunctioned prior to my ownership. Subsequently, after rebuilding the whole system, the head gasket failed. As anticipated, during the replacement process, the threads disintegrated when torquing the head bolts.

My acquaintance has an M54B30 kit that is in excellent condition and has lesser mileage than mine, which includes: a remapped ECU with EWS removed and all new gaskets.
- Upgraded DISA valve - Oil pump lock wired
Additionally, many additional items

The only item originated from an E46. I understand that I need to replace the pan, but what further modifications are necessary, or can I just install the 330 engine with my existing wiring harness and use the 330 ECU?

I saw a discussion on EWS and ECU issues related to key manipulation and EWS bypassing. Is the purpose of uninstalling the EWS to eliminate the need for further actions?

All feedback is welcome. This is my first experience replacing an engine with an alternative, thus I want to ensure accuracy in the process.

Thank you in advance.

Has the donor vehicle been removed as a precaution?
If that were the case, I would pursue it; but, I believe it will turn out satisfactorily.
I would prefer the second automobile, just in case.

Thank you; I hope it proceeds well.

He intends to retain the remainder of the vehicle, since I believe he plans to install a new engine for track purposes. Is there anything you suggest I enquire about acquiring from him, in case he intends to discard it?

Exchange the loom with him if he is willing.
He will not need that particular loom for his activities.

I will enquire with him, but if he has already disposed of it or is using it for another use, would the 330 lumens be equivalent to the 2.5 and 3.0, which are very similar?

You might evade detection since they can own identical plugs.
Uncertain, since I have never undertaken such exchange, but I believe it is worth doing. Best of luck to you, my friend.
