I am new to Mercedes-Benz and have just acquired a 2023 C43 AMG. I find the ride too firm and need help on transitioning to a softer tire. I do not intend to participate in track events. Is it possible to modify the tire profile?
Thank you very much

Initially, verify if you own run-flat tires. If applicable, replace them with normal tires. This will enhance the experience of the ride. The C43, equipped with AMG suspension, often offers a firm ride, particularly with 19-inch wheels.

Thank you. The tires are 20 inches, Michelin Pilot 4S, which are rather rigid. I believed that a softer tire may alleviate this issue. I also seen a YouTube video suggesting that the Michelin Sport 4 might mitigate the crabbing effect.

Indeed, 20-inch wheels will undoubtedly result in a painful experience over potholes, and I believe that with such wheel size, the kind of tire will provide less advantage unless you use run-flat tires and choose for alternatives; even then, the ride will remain harsh. My tires are 19 inches, and I wince even when I encounter a pothole. When I have to mount the curb for whatever reason, it seems as if my wheels lack tires.

I transitioned to the PS4 from the Contis when the tires required replacement, and they undoubtedly provide a more pleasant road feel while minimising crabbing.

I much appreciate your counsel. I was pleased to learn that you had really undergone the Michelin PS 4 alteration.
I believe the 20s amplify the crabbing, and the ride is severe with the 4S.I intend to adhere to your guidance, despite my vehicle having barely accumulated 3,000 kilometres since its inception, since the ride is diminishing my pleasure.
Thank you one again.

With 275/30R20 tires on the rear, you own just 81mm of sidewall. Shorter tires will not significantly impact such a low profile.

Thank you for your interest. My tyre specifications are as follows: Front 245/35/20, Rear 265/30/20.

Does your initial view remain unchanged?

Thank you very much

Indeed, you may see a little improvement; but, it will not perform comparably to a 211 on 16-inch wheels, that is certain.
