Could somebody provide guidance, please? I recently serviced my wife's 2 Series and replaced the metal inline fuel filter located on the underside of the vehicle. The task was straightforward; nevertheless, I was apprehensive about detaching the green and red fuel connector clamps, as they appeared fragile and prone to breakage. I am currently servicing my son's 2 Series with the identical fuel filter. My inquiry pertains to the accessibility of this filter; are they long-lasting filters, and if so, what is the advised mileage for their replacement? Is there a more effective method to detach those small clips, as I was only able to extract them by manipulating a small screwdriver?

The recommended interval is likely between 30,000 and 40,000 miles. I typically perform interim services followed by substantial services, resulting in changes every alternate year.
The clips can be easily manipulated manually; detach and slide the green clip, then press the other clip and remove the pipe. It is simpler to accomplish that task once the filter clamp has been detached.

Thank you, friend. So the green clip is a kind of lock then. Do you apply pressure on both sides as well? I have searched for spare clips online, but they appear to be exceedingly rare.

Indeed, the green component serves as the lock; at the top, carefully manoeuvre the locating tangs outward and subsequently slide the clip. It does not require total removal; only press the other component to detach the pipe from the filter output.

Due to their affordability, I would utilise them biennially; perhaps excessive, but nonetheless.
