I have previously sold a vehicle via Motorway, so I am familiar with the procedure; nevertheless...
I am curious whether anybody understands the functioning of the underlying algorithms, since I have seen that inputting identical vehicle models and miles yields varying estimates for various individuals. Specifically, an individual informed me that they received a quotation of £18,500 for their Mercedes via Motorway, whilst I was offered £20,200 for the same vehicle. Significantly different.
I can hypothesise the reasons behind this, but I am eager to learn if anybody has any educated thoughts or information on the matter.
Thank you.
Does anybody understand how Motorway operates?

Were these quotations made before to or after to the submission of all the photographs and documents?

Prior. However, there may have been some misunderstanding, I presume! I was informed that his statement before mine, which is unequivocally accurate.
I was enquiring to determine if others had encountered this as well.

It is undoubtedly contingent upon the specific dealer's bidding. Each individual is aware of their desired payment and has a certain selling price in mind.

The selling price is confirmed. The first quotation relies only on databases and algorithms, prior to the vehicle being shown to their dealer network.

The used automobile market is very volatile and will mirror national and regional trends.

Indeed, agreed. That is, I believe, a component of my inquiry. Does the postcode you provide when requesting a quotation influence the price you receive?
I am uncertain, but it seems plausible, which is why I am enquiring.

Indeed, I concur. I consider it to be a facet of my investigation. Does the postcode provided during a quote request affect the price offered?
I am unsure, although it is reasonable, therefore my inquiry.

Indeed, I concur. However, I believe this occurred prior to its visibility to bidders.
I just discovered that the other quotation pertained to posted images; yet, there remains an intriguing discrepancy of over £1,000 in the "pre-photo" price.
