Hardwire dash cam MY26

I have recently acquired a new 75 plate MY26 GT Line HEV and wish to hardwire my dash cam like I did in my previous Sportage. Previously, I connected to the 12v cigarette lighter fuse on the fuse board beneath the steering wheel; however, I cannot locate a corresponding fuse on the fuse board of the new vehicle. Is it feasible to piggyback off the fuse for the USB ports?

The dealer hardwired my dashcam, which functioned for approximately one year. The fuse blew repeatedly upon replacement. In this thread, I was referred to Dongar as an alternative method that derives electricity from the rear-view mirror assembly. This installation is straightforward, as the front dash cam may be positioned adjacent to it. The kit is expensive and requires several weeks to come from the US, but it has functioned well for the past six months following installation. Meriting consideration.

Greetings! I received my MY26 Sportage HEV GTS on October 1st. After detaching my Nextbase 522GW dashcam from my Niro, I placed it in the Sportage. I routed the power cable from the camera up the trim at the top of the windscreen, behind the rubber door trim, and connected it to the fuse for the windscreen washers. This clearly guarantees that power to the dash cam is disconnected when the ignition is turned off.

I purchased a dongar from Amazon and installed it on my MY26 GTS. Required around five minutes. Exercise caution with the clips in the cover. I believe the UK Amazon stock is outdated, since it still features USB-A rather than USB-C, in contrast to the US site, and the adhesive pad was insufficiently sticky (easily replaceable).

I utilise a Donger and furthermore draw power from the fuse box for my caravan review camera; my vehicle has two spare fuses.

Simply connect with a piggyback fuse.
