Have only had it for two weeks, but when I press the button to start (which it does most of the time), it sometimes tells me to put the key in the ignition or press the starter button. Is this something it should do?
May I also add...
Reverses with a really whinny sound; I only recently became aware of it when my wife backed out.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated; I thank you in advance.

A low battery is often indicated by asking to place the key over the button. Another possible connection is that the car can't read the key, so when you get in, it won't start. So, where is the key?

Without more information, I'll assume that you have a 2025 Sportage GT-Line Hybrid, albeit you haven't explicitly said so. If the starter button isn't working, I'd suggest checking the batteries and replacing them with high-quality ones. When you turn off the electric motor and then turn it back on, you'll hear a familiar sound—the reverse gear. This is to keep other drivers alert.

Thanks a lot; you're absolutely right on the car's specs and the sounds coming from the engine. Is it possible that the automobile isn't reacting to important commands to go forward or backward while there is no driver inside? If so, check the batteries.
Do you sell batteries exclusively?

Thank you in advance - once more.

You should return to the dealer and inform them of the problem; they should fix it because you have just had the car for two weeks. However, CR2032 batteries are not prohibitively costly for high-quality cells. Because it is not available on my Sportage GT-Line, I am unable to provide feedback about the remote feature.
A "GT-Line S Hybrid" Sportage is worth mentioning.
