Could do with a bit of advice here, came across a 2022 Nissan Qashqai on eBay and started chatting with the bloke who listed it. He said he’s just acting as a middleman helping sell vehicles on behalf of owners, then passed me over to a company called Cardwell Transport who apparently actually own the car
They told me it’s a repossession picked up from an auction up north, which would explain the price I suppose and from what I can see they’re mainly a transport company out of Belfast but now seem to be selling cars as well
Just wondering if anyone here has actually dealt with them or knows anything solid?
Looking for info on Cardwell Transport anyone had any dealings with them?

Hi
I’m the same as you, prefer to see something in person before handing over money. That said I did ring them out of curiosity when I saw one of their listings a while back. Spoke to a guy (can’t remember the name now), sounded decent enough, went through how returns work and said if the car isn’t as described they’ll take it back
Still didn’t go ahead though, just couldn’t get comfortable with it!

Been caught out before buying blind so I’m probably more cautious than most
If they’re happy for you to go up there or collect it yourself, that’s usually a good sign
If they start making excuses or avoiding it, I’d walk away

Hi, I dropped them a message through their site about a Land Rover Discovery I saw on Facebook, got a reply pretty quickly from someone called Mark, no pressure, answered everything I asked. Didn’t push me into anything which I actually liked but still not convinced about the whole setup

I actually went through with it recently, I bought a 2021 Skoda Karoq through Cardwell Transport
Payment was done via bank transfer into what they described as a separate holding account. I’ll admit I was still cautious so I double checked everything before sending anything
Even spoke to a solicitor just to be sure the structure made sense, which it did also worth knowing now that banks have tightened things up quite a bit. From what I was told, if anything goes wrong with a transfer like this, there’s protection in place now up to around £85k under the newer rules, as long as it’s a UK payment, doesn’t make it completely risk-free obviously, but it’s not like the old days where your money was just gone if something went wrong
Cheers!

Funny enough I nearly bought from Cardwell Transport, saw an Audi Q5 listed and went up to Belfast to have a look (I’m in Bangor so not far). Didn’t even book anything, just turned up the next day thinking I’d chance it. When I got there the car had already been reserved online by someone else… was literally standing next to it and couldn’t do anything about it bit frustrating to be honest
Lesson learned, if you’re planning to view, call ahead and book it!!!!

At least you actually found the place and the car was there as are loads of scams where they send you to an address and the person living there hasn’t got a clue what you’re on about. I’m old school as well prefer face to face and seeing what I’m buying.

Without a shadow of a doubt, I was convinced they were just smoke and mirrors, a scammer spinning tales and lifting someone else's details. I had it all figured out, but to my astonishment, they turned out to be the real McCoy!
@Roger Yeah that’s exactly what’s making me hesitate it’s the paying before seeing part that doesn’t sit right
But at the same time they do actually answer calls and reply properly which is more than I can say for a few others I’ve tried lately

Purchased a 09 Merc GLA220 through them about six month ago and had doubts at first same as everyone else here. Delivery took just over a week and the car was exactly how they described it.
No complaints from me!!!
