I may be mistaken, but I have heard that items can be classified based on photographs instead than a physical inspection. Consequently, industry professionals have noted situations where items should have been classified as Cat S but were designated as N, and vice versa.

Ultimately, it does not change the final outcome. A Cat S EV is likely to be unattractive to the majority because to concerns around potential battery damage and the associated risk of fire, even if the Cat S damage is not in proximity to the battery. Tesla will prohibit supercharging access upon discovery, but the method of detection remains unclear, it appears to be quite systematic.


If the original poster intends to restore it for personal retention, it is reasonable; nevertheless, if they lack the necessary skills, they will incur the expenses dictated by a body shop, namely retail prices. If they are replacing it regardless, then remove FSD and sell it to someone in the deal (option 3).
