My daughter has recently received a 2026 Clubman, and the suggested tyre pressures are 33.1 for the front and 29 for the rear. The dealer suggested 38, which appears somewhat excessive to me. What actions are others undertaking? I typically operate my vehicles at 2-4 psi above the suggested levels...

Elevated tyre pressure is expected to reduce rolling resistance and provide a modest enhancement in fuel efficiency, according to what I have heard.
Here are my thoughts...

Indeed, the inquiry pertains to the extent of elevation before the tire experiences central wear and the subsequent impact on ride comfort. I recently acquired a Kia Carnival, and the experience was dreadful. Upon inspecting the tire pressure, it registered at 49 psi! The tires are inflated during loading onto the trailers to prevent bouncing, and the dealer failed to reduce them to the advised 39 psi.
