Hi there. Petrol R60 1.6L N16 FWD Countryman 2013 model year. Before I added a second keyfob, everything was fine. My investment in the XTOOL D8S has been a complete failure. Although it has only been a few days, maybe XTOOL will reply, but I have not received any contact from them yet. According to XTOOL, in order to marry a second key, it was necessary to downgrade the software on the CAS. Failure was reported by the XTOOL D8S during the downgrade. Now the vehicle has died entirely. I can't turn the keys on, not even the window cranks. The CAS is, in my opinion, extinct.

My daughter's new learning vehicle, which I had purchased only a few weeks ago, was totalled. I am devastated. Who here knows what I should do? Can I fix mine by taking the electronic control unit (DME) and the control and data module (CAS) from that vehicle? Aside from the keyfob, DME, and CAS, are there any other parts that I need to replace? Would greatly appreciate any assistance.

I am curious, but I don't have a solution. Is there no way to get the engine to turn over?

Interruptions during writes can corrupt the system, and I've used Bimmercode, so I know it has many of the same warnings.

The Teahouse is totally lifeless. There are no dashboard indicators for the ignition. There is silence upon key insertion. You can't use the ODB port with this tool.

16-Pin OBD-II Standard Pinout
Locate Pin 4: GND, or Chassis Ground
Fifth pin: GND (Signal Ground)
Pivot 6: CAN High (D-CAN / ISO 15765-4)
Pin 7 is the K-Line / ISO 9141-2, which is a violet wire with a white stripe that is used for ECU diagnostics on many Mini and BMW models. [1]
No. 14: CAN Low (ISO 15765-4 / D-CAN)
Pin 16: Power from the battery (+12V constant), supplied from Fuse 3 in the footwell fuse box on the driver's side

Going by my recollection, it might be a dealer-only fix if the CAS is goosed.

Due to the chip's one-time use, it can be replaced by an auto electrician with the proper tools and soldering iron. Alternatively, my autel main dealer can reprogram a new chip.

I was wondering if someone has blown a fuse. Is there juice going to the OBD port from the battery?
