Greetings everyone, A Tourneo Connect MPV 2.0l diesel, the third generation, which debuted in 2022, was the vehicle I just purchased. I was planning on making a speedy switch, but I'm stuck trying to figure out which sizes of windscreen wipers are appropriate. If you measure the exposed blades between the clips, you'll see that the front set is 26"/14" and the rear set is 13". The answers I've gotten from AI have been all over the place, but it appears that the factory fittings for the front are 28"/16" larger. Now what? Would you like to keep the current sizes or go back to the ones from the factory? Are the ones made for factories able to slap or lift off glass? Is it possible that some sizing down occurred because of that? Would greatly appreciate any assistance! Please accept my utmost gratitude in advance.

It doesn't seem like that would be an issue if you're sure that Ford provides the larger size; otherwise, there would be problems for all of Ford's customers and dealers. Someone before you probably did the same lookup but got it "wrong," which is why it has the "wrong" size. To find the wiper blades for your Ford, go to the Ford Online Shop, select "Parts," enter your registration number, and finally, search for your vehicle.

On my MK5 Mondeo, I have something similar. While Ford (or rather, Motorcraft) offers 26" blades, I've had no problems switching to the much more readily available 27" from Bosch.

If the problem persists after installing new wipers, Ford suggests using clay or grade 0000 wire wool to thoroughly clean the windscreen. Also, be sure to carefully lever the wiper arm to adjust the attack angle onto the glass if the new wipers chatter or judder across the screen. I remember that Volvo did specify an angle and even provided a tool to measure it, but Ford did not do so for at least one of my cars. In most cases, the angle at the sweep's midpoint is perpendicular to the glass and 90 degrees.

Your response is appreciated, petesford. Mysteriously, when I insert my license plate as usual, the 28"/16" specs appear. However, upon closer inspection of the windscreen, it becomes evident that there is insufficient space for the additional length to be attached to the current arms. The two blades would collide with each other, with barely an inch of space between them, and they would also slam into the side pillars of the windscreen.

How exactly does one "absolutely clean using clay" the screen? I'm quite curious about that. If it's still juddering across after a deeper cleaning and checking the wiper arm's angle, I'll stick with the current sizes but get new blades.

In the same way that a clay bar can lift paintwork, it can do the same for screen elements that washes cannot. Not sure about the specific chemical procedure, though!

Is the park position the proper way to position the wipers? Marks indicating the proper resting position and, on occasion, the position to reach at the top of the sweep, are common on modern vehicles. If it's not the original windscreen, it might be missing.
