I just acquired a 2021 CX5 2.5 Skyactiv and I am quite enamored with it. Could you help provide information on the appropriate oil filter that offers both excellent performance and large capacity? I own a Mobil M1-101A, however, there are claims from many sites suggesting that the Mobil filters, including the M1-108, are erroneous. Assistance is requested. I have just acquired a little Mazda filter manufactured in Mexico, which seems to lack the expected visual characteristics. Assistance requested.

The identity and expertise of the individuals providing the aforementioned advice are uncertain. In instances of uncertainty, it is advisable to consult the application instructions provided only by the manufacturer of the oil filter that is desired for usage. If the user continues to lack confidence in their own guidance, it is advisable for them to contact the technical support team.
I will refrain from disclosing the specific findings, however it is worth noting that there exists a range of aftermarket oil filters that are commercially accessible. In the United States, the presence of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act ensures that unless a carmaker explicitly states that the warranty would be invalidated and engine damage will ensue unless their designated oil filter is exclusively used, consumers are entitled to warranty coverage. In terms of the MAZDA oil filter, it lacks any notable distinguishing features. I mostly use them now on my 2.5 Skyactiv Engine due to my acquisition of a case containing 24 units for a total cost of $30. In addition to the aforementioned options, additional often used motor oil brands include FRAM, Mobil One, and Amzoil.

It is worth noting that both the M1-108 and the M1-108A may be used according to the application guide.
The majority of oil filters often do not need replacement within the recommended service intervals for ordinary engines. It is important to note that oil filters are rather inexpensive and I consistently replace them after each oil change for all of my possessions equipped with such filters. I would like to inquire about the process of cleaning the oil filters on my race engines that are equipped with OBERG oil filters. Over the course of time, there exists a prevailing belief among the general populace that an oil filter becomes contaminated after being used for 3, 5, 10, 20, or even up to 30,000 miles by an ordinary customer who employs a vehicle for regular commuting purposes. The oil filter requires a significant accumulation of particulate matter in order to activate the bypass mechanism. The existence of this myth about oil filters has prompted manufacturers of OIL FILTERS to provide a range of options that suggest certain qualities without much empirical evidence. However, it is often believed that an aesthetically pleasing oil filter is inherently superior. Moreover, there has been a negative perception around some filters due to the actions of inexperienced individuals who disassemble them without taking into account the principles of fluid dynamics and the need of engine oil filtering for everyday drivers. Indeed, it is not uncommon for a product to exhibit occasional failures or quality control issues. Alternatively, this scenario may occur in the context of a couple whose filters were unlawfully replicated and disseminated.
Typically, I refrain from use "generic" unadorned painted oil filters, however there are instances when I may consider their usage if a client has a strong desire to economize on an oil filter service. It is worth noting that, over the course of many decades, there has been no recorded instance of a generic oil filter failing when installed and used correctly.
Moreover, some who believe they possess comprehensive knowledge of oil filters only based on information obtained from YouTube videos. I recommend that you consider obtaining a few oil analyses and engage in a process of acquiring knowledge about oil and oil filters.
In addition, the act of switching to a bigger oil filter may not provide significant benefits, unless one operates in an environment characterized by high levels of dust. Even in such cases, the effectiveness of using a larger oil filter remains uncertain, perhaps resulting in unnecessary expenses.

I regret to inform you, my friend, because the issue in question is one that tends to elicit perpetual discussions and disagreements. Perhaps you could peruse my discourse and make a selection or choose for the oil recommended by MAZDA?
I have used a variety of oil viscosities and then subjected the oil to many analyses. The selection of oil viscosity for the given operating circumstances is a crucial aspect that must be carefully considered. However, in situations of uncertainty, it is advisable to adhere to the guidance provided by MAZDA.
Here are the threads I have compiled.

The two most recent oil filters that I have acquired from the authorized dealership for my 2021 GTR model are identified as PY8W-14-302-MV and were manufactured in Mexico. It is possible that the earlier design is seeing a resurgence in popularity.
