The car bonnet/hood has been unlatched. What steps should be taken in response?

Greetings, everyone.
I experienced fatigue and drowsiness while operating a motor vehicle, resulting in a collision with a wooden barrier at an approximate speed of 10-15 miles per hour earlier today. The bonnet became disengaged from the latch in a backward motion after a collision with a bumper, as seen in the accompanying photographs.

Is this indicative of mechanical damage or sensory impairment? Can I re-latch it myself, or should I seek assistance from a garage?

The bonnet has not disengaged from the latch; instead, the pedestrian protection system has been activated, resulting in the deployment of the bonnet. The replacement and proper resetting of the system will need to be carried out by a competent bodyshop or workshop, regrettably.

Thank you for your informative answer. Could you kindly direct me to other resources that go into the underlying causes and elucidate the safety implications of this phenomenon?

Additionally, which components are prone to need replacement?

In my opinion, once the gadget is activated, it will need replacement hinges due to the presence of a charged mechanism that functions similarly to air bag systems.

The local garage has verified the information that both you and Steve have provided.

I am eagerly anticipating the receipt of my invoice.

Indeed, the forthcoming slumber is anticipated to be rather costly.

The user expresses amusement through laughter. I am deserving of it, to be honest.

I am appreciative that there were no other individuals implicated in the situation.

The anticipated expenses are expected to be incurred, with the hope that they will not be too burdensome, my friend.

Discovering an item of similar hue from a salvage yard may be fortuitous, warranting a prompt search on an online auction platform such as eBay.

It is conceivable that there might be a little financial expenditure involved.
