Greetings, esteemed members of the forum. I recently acquired a 2006 ML320 and encountered a few issues upon purchase, all of which have since been resolved. However, I have been attempting to convert the kilometre display to miles per hour on the primary digital cluster. After reviewing instructional videos, it was suggested that this adjustment could be made within the cluster settings. However, upon inspection, I found that the only available option was to modify the language. I thoroughly examined the sub-menus as well, but found no alternative means to effect this change. There was one particular option labelled "mp," but upon selection, it redirected to a page pertaining to winter tyres.
If anybody could provide assistance in resolving this issue or if there is any required software, it would greatly facilitate the process.
The 2006 ML320 CDI is equipped with an automated gearbox.

In the context of UK specification automobiles, it is often not possible for the user to manually modify the digital speed display. The reason for this discrepancy is attributed to the primary speedometer's exclusive display of miles per hour (mph), which necessitates the inclusion of a capability to exhibit kilometres per hour (kph).
There is a potential possibility of modifying it via the use of STAR, which refers to the dealer diagnostic package.

The recommended course of action is to establish communication with Command UK located in Lightwater and request the removal of the UK mode coding, or alternatively, seek the assistance of a proficient coder capable of doing this task. Subsequently, the user has the option to choose between adjusting the temperature or selecting the second speedometer. The procedure was performed on my 2008 SLK model.

It is important to possess a high level of certainty about the absence of any intention to operate the vehicle on the continent, since the ability to visually perceive the speed in kilometres per hour proves to be quite advantageous under such circumstances.

To be more precise:
The majority of Mercedes-Benz instrument clusters have the capability to exhibit the speed in kilometres per hour (km/h) via the use of an LCD display.
The primary concern associated with this matter, which necessitates the existence of a distinct UK layout, is that once this modification is made, the utilisation of other LCD features becomes restricted. For instance, if one wants to see navigation directions or the music playlist on the instrument cluster LCD display, they would be required to switch from the km/h display.
The inclusion of a permanent kilometre per hour (km/h) display in the UK layout replaces the external temperature display. This modification enables users to seamlessly navigate between different tasks on the LCD display while simultaneously monitoring their speed in km/h.
As an additional point, those who often drive in European countries will discover that converting between miles per hour (mph) and kilometres per hour (km/h) becomes rather simple with practise.

Moreover, it is likely that such a need exists within the legal framework of that jurisdiction.

I appreciate your assistance. Is it necessary for me to bring the automobile in, or will they provide instructions on how to proceed?

The cost of the automobile modification is £200, and it is necessary for the vehicle to be transported to Scotland, which is a considerable distance.

In principle, the coding process might be executed by anybody who possess the necessary access to Xentry or a comparable software platform. It may be advisable to do an internet search in order to locate a programmer who is in closer proximity to your location.
In terms of contextual information, Mercedes' practise of implementing this feature for UK vehicles may be attributed to their tendency to adopt an overly stringent interpretation of the Type Approval Rules, which stipulate that European Union (EU) automobiles should possess the capability to display both miles per hour (mph) and kilometres per hour (kph) measurements. The interpretation of this statement was that the system will consistently operate in the same manner without any adjustments made by the user when necessary. When altering the display, the speedometer may be adjusted to kilometres per hour (km/h) according on the measurement system (MY). The speedometer may indicate speeds up to 160 km/h, after which the main display takes precedence. The first two machine learning models, namely the 06 and 07MY, exhibited similar behaviour, however a subsequent 07MY model did not demonstrate the same pattern.
Additionally, it is expected that the conversion to kilometres per hour (kph) should also result in the cruise control and speed restriction being adjusted to metric units
