What do you think about personalized license plates? If you don't have one, what are your reasons for not doing so?

Here are my justifications for not owning one.
1) Because traffic cops and cops would notice me more, I'd be more likely to get caught doing something.

2) M41YEN is not in stock.
3) I can think of better ways to spend my money than this.
4) I recognize my automobile and recall the current license plate.​

So, if 2) and someone was buying it for me as a gift, I'd take it.

Your ideas, please....

(Do any of my four arguments hold water if you have a personalized plate?)

3) Absolutely!

4) The corporation that imported my automobile registered it, but the individual for whom it was imported quickly changed the reg to a personal one. Not personal to the individual, but to the automobile. The new owner didn't bother to modify anything when he sold it. I didn't modify it either when the person sold it to me. The word SUBARU appears on the plate. Squinting is required, but it is there. Beyond being the only silver Scooby with gold wheels in my town, it helps me recognize my car.

I wanted ALS401F (AlsGolf) or anything like when I drove Golfs. Cost was always a deterrent - it was always more than the car was worth, and I had other priorities:)

My children gave me one for my birthday many years ago, and when I retired, I transferred it from my pickup truck to the automobile in the photo.

I've often considered it, but it always seemed too difficult, and £250 for two pieces of plastic seemed excessive. Possibly one day, I believe it's supposed to be a bit simpler to do now that everything is online.

When his car was taken, the man I knew lost the expensive number plate, and there was no insurance to replace it. He felt terrible. He threatened legal action, but even if he did, I doubt it had any effect.
