Hello, I am interested in removing the deteriorated gasoline from the 1999 sl320 m112. Is there a Workshop Information System (WIS) or a comparable do-it-yourself guide available for this procedure?
Thank you very much (at least 100 times).
Is there a procedure available for draining the gasoline tank of an SL320?

What is the approximate amount of gasoline in the tank?

I am sceptical that this is information that you would locate in the repair manual. If the fuel neck lacks an anti-siphon mechanism (which is absent on older 129 models), one may use a fuel transfer pipe to extract the bulk of the fuel. Alternatively, you will have to access the underside of the vehicle and detach the input line from the gasoline pump.

Is there a hydraulic pump for lifting?
In the past, I unplugged the input to the fuel filter and transferred the gasoline to a huge container in order to pour it into my new motor.
I had to restart the ignition because insufficient fuel pressure in the engine causes the lift pump to shut down.
However, it didn't take much time.

Thank you for the responses, gentlemen.
The tank is almost at maximum capacity, with around 75 litres.
How can I determine whether the gasoline neck of this 1999 automobile is equipped with an anti-siphon device?
A lift pump, also known as a suction pump, is a device used to raise or elevate fluids from a lower level to a higher one.

Certain vehicles are equipped with an internal fuel pump located within the fuel tank. Since it is powered by electricity, it does not rely on an engine for operation.
When the ignition is cycled, it will initiate the priming of the fuel system.
To detach the gasoline line from the filter and redirect it into a container. If someone else activates the ignition without starting the engine, and if there is a lift pump, the container will rapidly get filled.
The lift pump will operate for about 15 seconds, or until the ignition is off.

It is evident that 75 litres of fuel, equivalent to 4 x 20-liter jerrycans or a comparable amount, is a substantial quantity that requires cautious handling and proper ventilation.

Short-circuit the fuel pump relay to remove the fuel from the fuel rail.

Insert a length of tubing into the gasoline inlet. If the motion ceases within a short distance, then the answer is affirmative.
