Query about the frequency at which oil should be changed

I have successfully completed the task of replacing the oil in my 2017 A6 with the 2.0 engine, which was very straightforward, except for the several screws securing the splash cover. I have had the automobile for a year, and the oil service interval light has prompted me to schedule a service.
Upon resetting the light, I see that it indicates a service interval of 10,000 miles, which raises some uncertainty and discomfort on my part. It seems that this is the suggested course of action when doing a search, but does anybody really wait that long to make the change?
Thank you.

For my last vehicle, equipped with a 3.0 V6 engine, I adhered to a 10,000 mile oil change interval. I eventually traded in the car after it had accumulated 234,000 miles.
The oil being used is synthetic, which has the capability to last up to 15,000 miles before requiring a change.

If in a cold region, it is advisable to reduce the OCI (Oil Change Interval). Performing a 10,000-mile oil change interval (OCI) may void the manufacturer warranty of the automobile, but it may also raise the likelihood of developing issues such as ring sludging in the future.
To optimise the maximum mileage and minimise any risks associated with OCI (Oil Change Interval), it is advisable to submit your oil sample for analysis. This will help determine the ideal OCI duration for your specific engine, oil type, and climatic conditions.

Based on my research on GDI engines, using high-quality gasoline and adhering to regular oil change intervals will effectively minimise the accumulation of carbon deposits on intake valves. For me, I adhere to 5,000-mile OCI (Oil Change Interval) intervals.

Thank you, I am aware that synthetic materials have a lifespan of 15,000 units, but, I am considering aiming for a range of 5,000 to 7,000 units. As the one responsible for its upkeep, I shall diligently inspect the quality of the oil, particularly since the vehicle in question belongs to my spouse and she often engages in several little journeys.

It is a wise decision, since many short excursions progressively pollute the oil. Occasionally, engage in a lengthy drive to eliminate the building pollutants between oil changes.

Indeed, I do extended journeys with it, since my alternative vehicle is a Hemi V8 Jeep, and the fuel efficiency is incomparable. Furthermore, the Audi exhibits superior handling and performance on the highway.

Where is the filter located on the 2.0? On my previous 3.0 model, the oil filter was located at the top, allowing me to easily collect the oil using an extractor. There is no need to get under the automobile.

I have consistently adhered to a 5,000-mile oil change interval (OCI). I have never had any problems related to oil combustion or leakage.
