First-generation V8 manual is a new experience for me.

Hello, everyone.

I am thrilled to inform that I have acquired my desired vehicle, an Audi R8 V8 with a gated manual gearbox.

After owning my S2000 for 8 years, I decided to upgrade to a R8.

I have had the vehicle for 2 months and enjoyed driving it. Today, I took it to Audi for its first servicing.

Although a pre-purchase examination was conducted, Audi discovered that the front mag ride shocks are leaking and the actuator for opening the engine compartment is jammed and has to be replaced. $652

Audi has provided an estimate of $13,000 to repair both parts, however I find it unreasonable. After researching, I found Chinese-made replicas that are much cheaper, however it seems advisable to avoid them since they do not align with the measurements of the original units.

Has anybody replaced their magnetic ride suspension with reconditioned components from Nagengast? What is the process for doing this task? Must you dispatch your magnetic rides beforehand? Does Audi provide this service?

Anticipating responses from everybody.

Avoid purchasing low-quality Chinese products.
Audi does not handle nagengast. You may communicate with them either on our platform or directly via their website in Poland. You have the option to submit your items for refurbishment or participate in an exchange where you get a set (along with a deposit) and then return your original items. They seem to be functioning adequately at this point.
You can also get authentic new items directly from the manufacturer on eBay for around £1600 each pair.
You might choose to switch to the regular Audi non magride suspension for a much lower cost than the magride option.

The black R8 is inconspicuous.

Congratulations!

Nagengast is known for their dependability and will likely respond to your post since they are a vendor on our platform.

Congratulations! Transitioning from a top-tier manual to a more methodical and industrial one will be challenging but ultimately fulfilling. 😅

I had my magazines refurbished by Nagengast and highly suggest their services over purchasing new units or any low-quality items from eBay. If you prefer not to deal with magnets for another ten years, you may switch to OEM passive components.

Congratulations! The S2000 is impressive, but you will definitely appreciate the R8. I previously had a black V8 vehicle with a gated gearbox similar to yours.

As previously said, I am delighted to assist. You may purchase your front shocks on our website at www.magrides.com. We will deliver you shocks first to avoid any downtime for your automobile while waiting for the shocks to be rebuilt.

If you are located in the USA, we may provide a shipping label for you to return your shocks. This option can be selected when completing your purchase.

We can provide you with other options as alternatives to magnetic riding. All original equipment manufacturer parts are from Audi.

We often ship to Australia. Assisted two clients in Brisbane.

I will send you a private message.
