2017 Mercedes-Benz E220d W213 AMG Premium Plus

76,000 miles

The automobile first displayed a solid orange 'check brake' warning light, which then started blinking red. The next day, the vehicle failed to start until the 12-volt battery was unplugged and then reconnected. The brake warning indicator is still on.

Transported to nearby automotive repair shop on January 9, 2024.

Diagnosed defective ABS module and replaced it with an authentic Mercedes component.

The scan indicated a malfunction. What is NSR EPB? Short circuit

Actuator and leaky NSR calliper were replaced with authentic Mercedes components.

The NSR EPB is not detected on Star Xentry, preventing the vehicle from learning to identify new components.

New components installed

12-volt AGM Halfords battery, expiration date: February 2024

EPB actuator

Rear brake calliper

Anti-lock Braking System Module

After retrieving the automobile from the local mechanic on 21/2/24, it no longer retains a charge from the 12v battery and depletes after around 4 hours, even when there are no electrical components left on inside the car. Noco Genesis 10 charger has been verified to charge below 25%.

The automobile has a tow bar installed by Towbar guy Alton and an Android auto module installed by Command Online Lightwater since ownership.

Continuing issues

NSR EPB not functioning

Cruise control/speed limiter not functioning

Braking system not functioning

Does not retain a 12-volt charge

The brakes have a mushy feel.

Ambient lighting malfunction on the right side of the dashboard.

Heading to Mercedes Ascot tomorrow am, wish me luck.

Apologies for combining mechanical and electrical difficulties in one article.

So, the battery problems began after installing a new battery, is that correct?

Yes, hmm. Replaced the previous battery since it was faulty.

Some problems may be false and caused by low voltage owing to a depleted battery. Mercenaries are very susceptible to low voltage.

Find a somebody who is able to measure the power consumption of different systems. If it is losing air pressure within 4 hours, a serious issue is occurring.
My initial hypotheses are: - Excessive power consumption due to a fault that needs to be identified and fixed, - Aggravated by a new but defective battery, which may not be the main issue, - A faulty earth connection, - Malfunctioning control/SAM unit due to a cause other than low voltage.

Can you see an independent Mercedes expert for an inspection? Instead of having a costly encounter at the authorised dealer?

I hope Merc will do a diagnostic first. Ultimately, I simply want my vehicle returned. I have a budget, but if it's depleted, I will likely dismantle the car for spare parts.

If possible, remain at the MB garage and ensure that the STAR diagnostic is conducted first. Then, discuss with them to agree on the necessary actions to be taken.

Otherwise, they can deplete your funds prematurely if you provide them with a specific financial goal, or budget, to adhere to.

If it is the responsibility of another party, they may want to have a voice in the matter. You are not obligated to provide it to them, but it could make things easier.
