How much does a clutch replacement cost for a first-generation V8 manual car? I am interested in upgrading to the V10 clutch in preparation for supercharging my vehicle with a VF Supercharger. I would want to know the approximate cost of installing a new clutch. I want to have the Kline exhaust I purchased installed promptly upon its arrival, which Kline said me would be no later than March 22nd. Should I also have the clutch replaced during the exhaust installation, or is it inconsequential? Thank you everyone

Installing the clutch and exhaust together may help save labour. The exhaust must be removed to provide access for dropping the gearbox.

The cost for components, including the clutch and throwout bearing, is between $3,000 and $4,000. You must resurface the flywheel or purchase a new one, which would cost around $1,000 based on my experience from six months ago.

Is a V8 engine that has been modified by VF Engineering a better performance option than a V10 engine? I remember reading something on this platform before.

I can't speak for others, but that's not true for me. After installing a VF tune around a month ago, my check engine light came on just 25 miles. I executed the codes and found misfires on cylinders 1 through 8. Eliminated the melody, reset the codes, and it did not return. Requested VF to examine the melody and inform me of any issues. The only response I received was that they had used that melody in hundreds of vehicles without any problems, suggesting that my car may be on the verge of breaking down. The car has 19,000 original mileage. Received a refund. I was disappointed, but I detest manufactured music. I will be installing their supercharger and opting for a bespoke dyno tune.
