Maintenance schedules

anticipate driving around 5000 miles per year and plan to retain ownership of my 2009 R230 SL500 until it is no longer functional. Therefore, I am not especially concerned about having a complete service history. Furthermore, the service records for the vehicle, up to its current mileage of 73000 miles, are inconsistent at best. When examining the Mercedes maintenance schedule provided, I would want to know the specific details on Service A and B. Which of the two services would be most advantageous for me to choose?
1. Perform an annual engine oil and filter replacement. 2. Regularly check fluid levels in the engine compartment. 3. Conduct frequent inspections of the tyres.
4. Replace the cabin filter every two years.
5. Replace the brake fluid every two years.
6. A and B exchange servicing every two years.

Furthermore, it is recommended to replace the ABC and brake fluid every two years. The fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs should be replaced every four years. Lastly, the coolant should be replaced after 15 years.

Additional suggestions or insights would be highly appreciated.

What is the definition of Service A?
The first service is scheduled at about 10,000 miles or 1 year, whichever occurs first. Subsequent services are thereafter scheduled around every 20,000 miles or 2 years. Service A covers the following:

Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement
Replacing the oil filter
Fluid level checks and adjustments should be performed according to the recommended service intervals specified by the vehicle manufacturer for your specific year and model.
Verification and adjustment of tyre pressure
Inspection of brake components
Initiate maintenance counter reset

What does Service B entail?
Service B is scheduled for the first visit at about 20,000 miles or 1 year after the last service, and then typically every 20,000 miles or 2 years thereafter. It includes the following:

Substitute Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil
Replacing the oil filter
Fluid level checks and adjustments should be performed according to the recommended service intervals specified by the vehicle manufacturer for your specific year and model.
Verification and adjustment of tyre pressure
Replacement of the cabin dust/combination filter
Inspection of brake components
Brake fluid replacement
Initiate maintenance counter reset

Thank you for watching.

It is recommended to replace the gearbox oil and filter every 40,000 kilometres.
I would recommend changing the rear differential oil as soon as possible. It is a rather inexpensive maintenance task.
Detach the plastic panels Thoroughly clean the brake pipes from the front to the rear and apply ACF spray to them.
Periodically clean the wheel arch lips and consider applying a layer of waxoyl or Dinitrol to them.
Apply gummipfledge or silicone oil to all rubber seals biannually.
Apply a coat of spray to the locks of the door and boot, and annually use the manual metal key in order to operate them.
Monitor the rear boot seal located under the rear window for any leaks.
I regularly replace the hydraulic reservoir fluid for the convertible top on my CLK. I'm not sure whether you have one as well.
An air conditioning system should be recharged with refrigerant every 5 years.
If you have a budget of £20, you may want to consider purchasing a Gold Plug magnetic sump plug for your engine oil.

The suggestion you are making seems to be exactly what your SL500 need. If you do not drive long distances, it is likely that you will get a notification in the vehicle's instrument cluster every 15-18 months, informing you that a service is required. The previous generations of devices, such as the R230, used the ASSYST system to accurately calculate the timing for required servicing. The newer vehicles now need a service either every 12 months or at a certain distance, regardless of how little kilometres you have driven.

Thank you,sighn34, for providing the information.
There are a few of items to consider. Firstly, I would want to inquire if the removal of the plastic panel requires accessing the underneath of the car?
-What substance do you apply to the locks?
There is no text provided. I am experiencing an issue with the rear boot seal leaking at the joint on the passenger side, as well as the joint seal above the passenger seat. Could you please provide me with the cost of replacing these seals?
Thank you.

Indeed, I need assistance with the maintenance of the car's panels. Specifically, I need to address the locks using a lubricant such as GT85, rather than WD40.
A solution for the rear seal issue may be found by searching on YouTube or doing a broad search on Google. Please make changes to the URL provided below.

You are approaching the time for your second gearbox oil and filter replacement. Verify that the first task was completed at around 37500k.

Thank you. I currently do not have any records in my service history, but I am planning to get it completed prior to my trip to Scotland.

It may be advisable to inquire with MB about the digital service record. Unless, of course, you have a physical copy of it.
