In the 1990s, I recall having to relocate my youngest son's Hyundai Coupe from my driveway because it was obstructing my vehicle and I had to go to work.

For many years, I had not experienced sitting in a low-slung automobile. Climbing into it was a little surprising, but not as much as attempting to exit.

This video on Facebook served as a reminder and reinforced my decision to choose for a higher car, which is better suitable for my somewhat less agile body at now.

Indeed, we own two automobiles, a 2008 Sportage and a 2005 Grand Vitara, which are easily accessible and can be exited without difficulty. Regrettably, both vehicles are equipped with automatic transmissions, as a result of my unreliable left knee.
In my early years, I had an MGB convertible and then a Dutton Malaga/B+. Additionally, I had a Nissan Silvia and a collection of motorcycles.

It seems that I am not the only one who finds it difficult to exit autos.

I aspired to own a Porsche till I had the opportunity to have a test drive in a 911 few years ago. Entering the vehicle was effortless, and operating it was a delightful and exhilarating experience. Emerging - alas - my aspiration dashed in an instant. It was somewhat undignified to exit the automobile by crawling on hands and knees. To make matters worse, I had just reached the age of 30.
Historically, I have favoured estate cars as my preferred choice of vehicle. However, recent trends and the need for a vehicle capable of towing have compelled me to switch to SUVs. The added benefit of easy access has been a welcome advantage.

A few years ago, we were in search of a new automobile for my significant other. I first considered a compact and stylish mx5 convertible as a viable choice, but my enthusiasm waned as I had difficulty accessing the driver's seat.

Throughout the years, I have had many sports cars and never encountered any difficulties while entering or exiting them. However, at now, it would be impossible for me to get out of a sports vehicle unless I possessed a crane. Recently, I made a previous effort to get a car and considered a Fiat Coupe. I informed the sales representative that if they could deliver the item to my location without causing any damage to the front and back bumpers, I would make the purchase. However, after assessing the situation, the sales representative concluded that it was not feasible to meet this requirement, resulting in the loss of the transaction. I had to approach at an angle with my Fiat Stilo due to the body modification, which reduced the car's height. Negotiating speed bumps was quite challenging. The Coupe, being even lower, presents a similar issue. However, it is an exceptional vehicle.

I sold my Jaguar XE for the same reason. While it was a delightful vehicle to drive, I found it somewhat challenging to walk the first 50 yards after a lengthy ride.
The Sportage has a distinct dissimilarity.

At the age of 66, I still find great pleasure in driving this vehicle, regardless of how graceful or ungraceful my entrance or departure may be. However, it is more convenient when the top is down.
