Combusting petroleum

Greetings, I trust that everyone is secure amongst this very arduous period.

The model is a 2013 X6 50i. It seems that my vehicle is using oil at a higher rate than usual. While it is common for V8 engines to need an additional quart of oil between oil changes, I am concerned that my oil light is illuminating every 1,000-1,500 miles. I detect a faint odour of burning only when the heating system is activated... I brought the vehicle to a BMW dealership where it underwent an inspection and was determined to be in excellent condition without any signs of leakage. As a precautionary measure, I also had the engine degreased to eliminate any residual oil or fluids that may potentially ignite.

I provide a single container of Liqui Moly 2020, which contains only pure Esters. Esters rejuvenate the deteriorated nitrile elastomer in the rear main seal, oil pan, valve cover gaskets, and valve stem seals due to extreme heat. They fully saturate and cause the seals to expand back to their original diameters.

I have had good outcomes with the use of at-205. However, it should be noted that all of these oil additives provide only temporary remedies, with limited effectiveness. They are unable to penetrate beyond the superficial layer of the seals. Therefore, they must be changed at each oil change. They may provide you with a few months to many years of use before you have to replace them.

I have had two rear main seal replacements, as well as replacements for the valve cover seals, upper and lower oil pan, turbo oil return block, turbo oil lines, and all the ccv pipes. My vehicle has accumulated a total of 61,000 miles. I have switched to a 90-degree Celsius thermostat in order to mitigate the rate at which these seals deteriorate. I believe that BMW did not use high-quality components. There is no justification for the occurrence of three rear main seals failing within a mileage of 61,000.

Are you acquainted with the class action lawsuit and its subsequent settlement? If you are experiencing oil combustion, it may be advisable to consider seeking assistance from a different dealer. I incurred the cost of replacing my engine and was required to make a payment of 15% according to the distance I had travelled. There are also extensive discussions on online forums about the n63 settlement.

I own a 2014 X6 with the N63 engine. I was monitoring the combustion of petroleum across a distance of about 35,000 miles. At a mileage of 49,000, I experienced oil consumption of around 1 quart every 900 to 1,000 miles. At that juncture, my assertion that the valve guides were experiencing early wear (which is the primary cause of oil burn in the N63 engine) transformed into requests made to my nearby BMW dealership to replace my valve seals/guides without charge. Due to my tenacity and the impending verdict on the N63 Class Action case against BMW North America, they eventually agreed to take the vehicle for a duration of 3 weeks and do the valve guide replacement procedure without any charge. The dealership said that it was unnecessary to remove the engine from the automobile. Instead, they disengaged the engine and successfully finished the task using that method. Currently, I use a mere 1 quart of oil for every 2500 miles travelled.

Appreciation expressed! I want to communicate with my BMW dealer to inquire about potential courses of action.

I own an S63 and, for the first time, the gauge is showing a little decrease in mileage, now at 11,000 km since the previous oil change.

I typically undergo a change around the 10,000 mark and will be undergoing another change in the near future. Currently, I am at 111,000.

I am impressed by the vehicle's exceptional fuel efficiency, which is not typical of BMW vehicles. The text provided is not clear or understandable.

In my experience, there is a significant difference between the N63 and S63 engines when it comes to oil consumption. The N63 engine consumes 1 quart of oil for every 1,000 kilometres travelled. The S63 consumes 0.5 quarts of oil every 5,000 kilometres.

I also had my engine redone. I estimate that I paid around 25% of the total cost. I estimate that the replacement occurred when the odometer read around 90,000 kilometres.
