Individuals may encounter enhanced riding characteristics while transitioning from the 20s to the 19s, since the road conditions in central Illinois are subpar.

I transitioned from a 20/21 configuration to a 19/20 configuration in order to accommodate the Toyo proxes R888R. A reduced wheel size results in increased tyre tread and aspect ratio, which refers to the amount of material present between the wheel and the pavement. Which option provides a greater level of grip? High horsepower designs are equipped with a somewhat smaller wheel (18" rear) in order to accommodate a Mickey Thompson drag radial, which provides optimal straight line grip. Nevertheless, my configuration is optimised for both purposes. An excessive amount of rubber is also detrimental for turning and manoeuvring. Achieving an optimal combination of tyre thickness and wheel size is crucial.
A 19-inch front and 20-inch rear provides a combination of advantages. With the 20/22 configuration, my rear tyres had a 25 aspect ratio, which is rather narrow for drag racing and/or track use. The tyre may deteriorate rapidly and become hazardous in a short period of time. This is the reason why there is a scarcity of drag radials designed for a wheel diameter of 21 inches. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 has a minimum aspect ratio of 30 when equipped with a 21-inch wheel. If your R8 has AWD, the total diameter becomes too large. When a 20-inch wheel is positioned in the rear, there is a wide array of tyre choices available. Similarly, the front. If you decrease your height to 19 inches, your choices increase.
FYI, the LMS GT R8 is equipped with 18-inch wheels on all four axles. The square layout allows for the use of tyres with a width of 305 or more on all four wheels, as opposed to the staggered arrangement seen in consumer road cars, in order to provide maximum grip. Furthermore, almost all performance tyre manufacturers provide drag radials and slicks specifically designed for 18-inch wheels.

In my winter setup, I use 19s, but in my summer arrangement, I employ 20s. I did not see a significant difference in ride adherence. If I had to purchase an additional winter setup, I would choose for the 20s just for the sake of visual appeal.

On 19/19, I will do a comparative analysis of the two options. I have no intention of engaging in tracking or racing.

Indeed, you will not encounter any issues. You have the freedom to do anything you like. Exercise caution on the total diameter if you have a wide diameter. Strive to maintain a deviation of less than 5% from the original equipment manufacturer's specifications. If drag radials were not required, I would have chosen the 20/21 configuration due to its superior visual appeal. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres exhibit exceptional performance. A 255/30/20 tyre was mounted on a 20x9" front tyre, while a 325/25/21 tyre was mounted on a 21x12.5" rear tyre.
The drag configuration I have is 19x9 inches, with a 245/35/19 R888R tyre positioned in front. The rear tyre is a 20x12" with a 325/30/20 tyre.
The total wheel sizes in both sets exhibit a difference of less than 1% from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
