My spouse's 2012 N18 Countryman is in need of a new timing chain kit as a result of a defective intake valve sprocket. Fortunately, BGA parts are available with a guarantee of three years. The mechanic has successfully installed the kit, adjusted the timing, reset the software, and now has a 2DA2 code. The exhaust cam angle is no longer in the acceptable range. He double-checked the timing three times and everything was satisfactory. He has replaced the Pierburg Vanos solenoids, but the issue persists. He has also replaced the old solenoids and exchanged the cam sensors, but the problem remains same.Is it possible that the vac pump is causing the exhaust cams to be displaced? Any more comments on the problem are very appreciated.

There are a few considerations to contemplate. Is it possible that the intake and exhaust sprockets are positioned correctly? Have you obtained one of each item (Mike had a rogue kit containing two identical items)? Have you replaced the rectangular rings located at the ends of the camshafts, since they have the potential to release oil pressure?

Cheers will inquire of him upon his subsequent communication with me. He cited a 2DA2 code exhaust timer that is not functioning properly in respect to the crank.

It is probable that you need an upgrade for your ECM software. During your year, there is a software glitch that hinders the effective updating of the vanos adaption.

The individual in question brought the vehicle to a professional with expertise in BMW diagnostics, who identified a malfunction.
The system has been reset and is now functioning well.
