Rust protection for the W205 chassis

Given the extended lifespan of my most recent vehicle and my regular use throughout the year, I am contemplating the installation of rust-proofing measures on its underbelly, particularly due to its low mileage.

Do W205 vehicles have a heightened susceptibility to corrosion from the underside?

Undoubtedly, I want to complete it over the next fall season.

Greetings

The optimal period would be during the summer, ideally after a period of less precipitation, since this reduces the likelihood of allowing moisture to get under the rustproofing.

There is a location in Dudley indicated here, which is around 1 hour and 40 minutes away, making it feasible.

I have never seen any issues with mine - I believe they are far more secure than the 204's.

For clarification, I previously used my as a daily item in all weather conditions. Encompassing ice and snow, along with the accompanying salt that accompanies these circumstances.

That is encouraging to learn.

Numerous accounts of underbelly horrors involving different manufacturers have been seen on platforms such as YouTube.

I have a strong affinity for Japanese automobiles, which exhibit a propensity for deterioration.

It would be desirable to observe the underside after a period of 5 years and observe the absence of any corrosion problems.

During a recent observation of a W204 in the UK, I saw that the brake lines were deteriorating due to corrosion. I was hopeful that MB had taken action to address this issue.

The presence of MB rust.
This is an unmentioned option that the dealership neglected to inform you about when you choose the optionslist to purchase a new Mercedes.

How does the word "long term" refer to a friend?

After a period of 5 years or longer, the automobile will reach the age of 10 years.

Regardless of your future decision, it is highly recommended to remove all the bottom trays and thoroughly clean the front to rear brake lines, followed by using ACF50 spray.
Additionally, it is advisable to do an annual cleaning of the inner lip of the wheel arches, and consider applying a waxoyl or similar substance to the lip (which is my personal practice).
In addition, I have applied dinitrol cavity wax to the rear subframes of both vehicles.
For a vehicle that will just be 10 years old, you will not need any more features.

I am certain that I will provide a competent execution of the task, as you suggest, by applying a spray into the cavities to prevent internal decay.

I strongly support preventive maintenance since it is more convenient to halt the occurrence of future events.

I anticipate that my vehicle, which is just under 5 years old and has accumulated less than 10,000 kilometres, will not be a dilapidated disaster.
