Greetings, everybody.
Recently, I acquired a 2019 C2000 estate vehicle equipped with AMG 19-inch wheels. I am experiencing subpar ride quality and excessive noise. Mercedes has purportedly examined the suspension and deemed it to be in excellent condition. When traversing the motorway and traversing any crests in the road, there is a perceptible sensation of mild swaying in the rear section. Additionally, there is a perception that the automobile lacks tyres and the occurrence of bumps is magnified.
I am now using Pirelli P Zeros, and I am suspicious that the tyres may be the cause.
The riding quality of the 2019 C200 is subpar.
The vehicle is equipped with large wheels and short sidewall tyres. For enhanced comfort, it is advisable to consider using wheels with a diameter of 17-18 inches.
Is the tracking malfunctioning when you mention that the rear end is oscillating?

Apologies, but the primary factor is the presence of 19-inch wheels. The typical range is between 17 and 19.
It is a persistent problem in BMW territory. New owners express dissatisfaction with the rough ride and tram line, and subsequently get inquiries about their chosen vehicle. Typically, their response is a specific M Sport model, characterised by a rigid sports suspension, with oversized wheels and sports seats.
The term "back end sway" may be used to refer to a phenomenon often seen in big wheels and tiny tyre wall tyres, which is commonly referred to as "tram lining." The sensation of deviating from the intended path is induced by the topographical features of the roadway.

The 3 Series (19's, M Sport suspension, run flats) exhibits a notable characteristic in question.
One specific segment of the M25 has a notable susceptibility to tramlining.

According to some sources, it has been suggested that a 250 horsepower Dreier Sport equipped with adaptive dampers does not encounter such an issue.
However, less common than dentures made from hens and less fashionable than a M Sport on 19's.

The wheels on our vehicle were 19 inches with run-flat tyres, as seen below: they are attractive, but the ride quality is rough. I have never experienced tram-tracking, save for while using Pirelli P Zero run-flat tyres. In 2020, we implemented Pirelli P7 run-flats on our 18" rims, which marked a significant improvement. In the previous year, a pothole impact caused damage to one of the front tyres. Consequently, when the tire's diameter approached 3mm, I opted to replace all four tyres with Continental non-run-flat tyres. The ride quality has much improved.
Our son-in-law has an S205 C220d Sport equipped with 17" rims, which offers a very sophisticated driving experience in contrast to our own. However, it is worth noting that his suspension is comparatively less rigid than ours.
