Good evening to everybody,

Even though this topic has been discussed many times before, please bear with me.

Earlier in the year, I decided to trade in my 2014 E Class 250 coupe for a 2017 C220d premium estate model. A choice that I almost immediately came to regret since I was so attached to the old automobile, but oh well, such is life. It seemed to me at the time that I needed something rational and practical, and the C220 satisfies both of those requirements.

But the ugly piano black center console is one of the things that is bothering me, and there are a few other things as well! Would have much liked the black ash color, but Merc gave me this vehicle at such an attractive price that I decided to go with it instead. However, when the sunroof is open—which is how I keep it for the most majority of the time—there is a great deal of reflection off of the console, in addition to its natural propensity to show scratches. I'd want to replace it with the black ash console, but I have a feeling that doing so would be too expensive. The idea of wrapping something came to me, however I believe the console would need to be removed in order to do this, thus it would not be as inexpensive as I would want.

I am going to venture a bet and say that someone in this community has wrapped their console and hence perhaps has some suggestions. Perhaps some other recommendations. A sophisticated tone of Dulux's emulsion paint, perhaps?

Any assistance is much appreciated. Thanks.

Even if the console has been taken apart and stripped down to its most fundamental components before the wrapping process, the finished product will always be referred to as a wrapped console.

You will need to remove it anyhow if it was being wrapped, so why not replace it with an old one that has already been used?

Because there are so many complex curves, hydro dipping could provide a far nicer finish. ;)

Following this since I'm considering p/ex'ing my current one, which has the ash wood impression, for one that has the gloss black, and I was thinking precisely the same thing until I saw this. The one I had before this one was similarly gloss black, and I didn't care for it at all; but, the one with the black wood impression is extremely good.

Please keep me updated on how things are doing and report back to me.
