The windscreen wiper on the passenger side is not functioning.

Greetings, everybody.

Is there someone available to provide assistance with this matter?

Acquired a well-maintained E350 coupe at a fair cost. Nevertheless, the passenger windscreen wiper exhibits inconsistent functionality, or rather, it functions very seldom. Uncertain if this is an electrical or mechanical problem...suspected it could be electrical as it momentarily functioned (therefore, assuming the mechanical components are functioning well).

I am unable to locate a convenient method for accessing the necessary information to examine the automobile. Additionally, I am unable to discover a fuse chart to verify if the passenger blade has an independent fuse.

As a retired individual, I lack the financial means to invest in a dealership for the purpose of resolving issues. Therefore, I would much appreciate any assistance or advice provided.

I had a conversation with a buddy who specialises in constructing camper vans. He suggested attempting to manually displace the malfunctioning blade, since its movement might serve as an indication that the connections had been detached. The blade is able to move with ease.

How can I access the links, gentlemen? Have any of you done this before or could you provide me with a picture or explanation of how to fix it?

The majority of automobiles equipped with two wipers are powered by a single motor, which is connected to the wipers using a linkage system.

This is the appearance of a 2006 C class vehicle prior to me cleaning it.

I am uncertain about the appearance of yours, but I think that it will be rather similar.

Value

I was unaware of the presence of the bar located on the left side of the engine compartment. Based on the accompanying photographs, it seems that there is a heat shield present on my 2011 E350 coupe.

Is it necessary to delete this, or is there an other method to access the passenger linkages? Removing the heat shield may be a labor-intensive task. It may need the use of specialised equipment.

There is no need for you to remove the heat shield.

Loosen the nuts located on the upper part of the wiper linkages that are visible after removing the plastic covers.
Detach the wipers and brackets with a puller. Avoid attempting to remove them forcefully or using improper tools, as this may cause harm to the spindle, perhaps resulting in its breakage or hindering the correct engagement of the wiper when reinstalling it.

Ensure that the problem is specifically with the connection under the scuttle panel, rather than being a complication with the wiper spindle.

Detach the rubber sealing strip by pulling it off.
Delicately remove the black plastic scuttle panel (a black grid mesh object) to expose the connections underneath. Be cautious of washer lines that are fastened under the scuttle panel.

You are highly esteemed, not only for your prompt response but also for providing the link to the puller tool (if you had to make a purchase again, which brand would you prefer: Silverline or Neilsen)?

What astounds me about sites such as this (although I often frequent motorbike forums) is the willingness of individuals to dedicate their time to assisting others.

Thank you so much, my friend. I really value your assistance.

The silverline is insufficient in size. 👍

(I discovered after purchasing it; I regret not getting the Neilsen right away).
