Hello, everyone!
Ever since I purchased my first-generation R8 last autumn, I've been considering getting a new wheel for it. The original R8s featured dull black leather wheels with silver accents. The perforated leather wheels that came standard on all of my earlier sports cars left me wanting for a better wheel in terms of fit, function, and grip. Among the many possibilities I discovered while perusing this forum's archives are MAcarbon, Eurozone, Gen2 conversion, and many more. While I was impressed by the quality of the products offered by each firm, I ultimately decided against spending over $1200 on wheels for the R8 since I had other ideas for it.
After some research, I learned that the TTRS wheel (and several TT wheels) are directly compatible with the Gen 1 R8 wheel. The more I looked into it, the more I saw that TTRS and TT wheels aren't much less expensive; in fact, you can purchase a basic, non-carbon wheel for approximately $750. Even if it was less expensive, I still wasn't convinced to purchase the wheel on the spur of the moment.
Well, I went ahead and did it! This product from the Chinese firm OLIKE is what I ended up purchasing from Amazon: The online retailer Amazon
TTRS brake, This somewhat chunkier-than-OEM bundle has graphite and perforated leather with carbon button surrounds—an costly add-on elsewhere—and red stitching. sent directly to your home for $460. I began looking into the business after seeing that OLIKE had a few good evaluations on the web (in other Audi forums), and since 1. This came with Amazon's basic purchase protection and 2. Since I've had success in the past with Chinese vendors for similar components, and since practically all wheels (except than those costing $1500 or more) are probably manufactured in China, I went ahead and bought them. Plus, I'm relieved that I did: The wheel arrived four weeks later in pristine shape:
