The inside door light of the Mini R57 Cabrio flashes in synchronisation with the indicators.

My spouse informed me that the north/south indication on her device had ceased functioning. After replacing the bulb, there was no change or improvement. Observed that the headlight was not functioning and neither was the offside rear indication. Experimented with all the bulbs and discovered that the internal door light was flashing synchronously with the indicators.

After removing the internal bulb, the indicators momentarily functioned. However, when I switched on the lights, the indicators ceased to operate again.

I believe that the issue may be attributed to either the overhead switch panel or the door contact switch. I am unable to find the latter, but I guess that it is a component of the door lock mechanism.

I would really appreciate any views, recommendations, or responses.

Preliminary considerations would include the possibility of a corroded ground or water infiltration into the footwell module, resulting in the formation of green crusty deposits and a short circuit to the ground.

I appreciate your response. I have the same viewpoint after doing extensive research on Google for a few hours. There must be a short circuit occurring someplace.
Where can I locate the footwell module, specifically in the footwell area, and what does it look like?

The footwell module is concealed below the plastic trim located in front of the A pillar and positioned slightly above the floor mat.

The area has been identified and it is clearly evident that it has been affected by moisture. The plugs of the module exhibit corrosion in some areas, therefore I have cleaned them and submitted the module for refurbishment. With optimism, this will resolve the issue.

It is quite probable that this will be the issue.

Thoroughly clean the plug terminals with DeOxit D5 or a comparable cleaning agent.

In addition, I would conduct an inquiry into the possible origin of the leak and rectify it accordingly.
