Greetings, everyone. I have come across many discussions on charging problems, but most of them are outdated. Additionally, I own one of the first P270e Evoque devices, which has already been replaced with the P300e.

I received the package last evening and immediately had problems with billing. I own a Simpsons & Partners wall box and I am currently subscribed to the Octopus Go energy tariff.

Initially, the vehicle was set to immediate charging and the wall box was similarly set to charge instantly in order to do the first charge. Nevertheless, after making around 20 tries to establish a connection, the automobile failed to charge and remained in the 'initialising' state.

In order to ascertain if the wall box was the cause of the problem, I connected the granny charger. Despite encountering the same issue initially, after around ten attempts, it successfully connected and began charging.

Subsequently, I returned to test the wall box and, after around 10 tries, it began to charge as well. Subsequently, I halted the charging process and modified the wall box to charge the vehicle during the designated low energy periods of Octopus Go. However, as a result, the car entered the 'initialising' phase once more, which ultimately led to a failure.

Furthermore, during these several tries, the charger would get immobilised to the automobile and despite according to the instructions, it could not be disengaged. Once, I had to locate the emergency release wire in the trunk.

Today, on my third effort, I successfully achieved rapid charging using the wall box. However, on the previous two attempts, the charging process began and then transitioned to a 'initialising' state after a few minutes.

I am now attempting to reestablish the scheduled charge. Initially, I selected the option for quick charging for the vehicle and connected it to a wall box set on a timed charge. However, when the scheduled charge was activated, the car remained stuck in the 'initialising' state and would not move.

I attempted to configure the vehicle to only charge during periods of low energy use, and I adjusted the settings of the wall box to begin charging instantly. However, upon connecting the car to the charger, it began charging without any delay.

I am quite frustrated with this item already, even though it has only been less than 24 hours. My only desire is to connect it to a power source and allow it to recharge fully overnight. Additionally, I would want to detach the charging cord afterwards. Is it really an excessive request?

For my MY20.5, I first used the car's built-in charge schedules that I configured via the vehicle's top screen, rather than relying on the remote app. This method was effective while I was using the standard charger, but as I installed the Hypervolt charger, I used its scheduling feature and removed the car's schedules, doing it using the car's screen rather than the mobile application. There might be a conflict between the wall box and the automobile due to compatibility issues. Can you please specify the kind of wall box you are using?

I was first taken off guard by the plug/socket release a few times as well. To release the charging plug, I need to click the "open" button on the key fob three times. Specifically, I push it once for the driver's door, twice for the other doors, and three times for the charging plug.

As previously said, I own a wall box from the company Simpsons & Partners. I attempted to keep the wall box powered on and let the vehicle's schedule dictate when it would use electricity. However, the car began using power right away, instead of waiting for any activity beyond the 'initialising' phase.

I attempted the task once again, this time deactivating the low cost hours in the wall box settings and opting to schedule the vehicle for smart charging during the next low cost hours tonight, in preparation for a 7am departure. Connected the wall box to the vehicle and began charging promptly, only to abruptly halt and get trapped in the 'initialising' phase once again.

It is unclear if you have prior experience with an electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid. Therefore, I would want to know whether you have successfully utilised your charger in the past.
There are three distinct factors that might impact the charging process: the provider, the wall box, and the automobile. These factors have the potential to create conflicts among themselves. If I were in your situation, I would attempt to charge without any limitations imposed by any of the three parties involved. If attaining that objective is unattainable, then you are faced with a predicament. Once you are able to accomplish rapid charging, you may then proceed to programme it. I use the charger (PodPoint) app to do this in my situation. Wishing you success and please keep us updated!

I have not owned an electric vehicle or hybrid car before. I purchased the wall box when I had placed an order for an Audi Q4 e-tron. However, the order was cancelled owing to specification concerns. Consequently, I opted for the Evoque PHEV instead, specifically the P300e model. Although I now have a P270e model, that is a separate matter.

It APPEARS that I am now able to charge rapidly with more reliability, without any limitations. The wall box takes precedence over timed limitations when it is unbound, causing it to instantly start charging the automobile. If the automobile is not subject to any limitations and the wall box is programmed with a timer (like I attempted last night), no action occurs.

Naturally, JLR asserts that it has no connection to the automobile. I have reached out to Simpsons & Partners to inquire about their guidance about this combo.

I discovered that using the timetable on the charger proved to be more effective than relying on the car's schedule. Have you verified that there is no "departure time" programmed in the car? To ensure there are no conflicts with the wall box, it is advisable to erase this as well as any charging schedules.

Yesterday evening, I attempted to utilise the wall box scheduler without any charging schedules, low-cost hours, or vehicle pre-conditioning enabled. However, the desired outcome was not achieved. The only advantage is that neither the wall box nor the automobile were in an erroneous state this morning; rather, there was just no activity. This may be considered a little but meaningful progress. The car's ability to connect for an instant charge seems to have improved, perhaps indicating a more reliable performance. This might be attributed to a process of stabilisation or adjustment.

As I said before, I am not just testing the in-car scheduling and preconditioning features. Simpson & Partners promptly responded to me, demonstrating their responsiveness. I hope I can find the correct configuration to resolve this issue with overnight charging. If quick charging is more dependable, it alleviates the significant issue, at least temporarily.

My opinion is that the octopus Go has discontinued its support for Land Rover automobiles.

The JLR / Simpsons & Partners do not support the use of the intelligent Octopus Go. However, they confirm that the conventional Octopus Go, which offers set 4-hour overnight low rates, is compatible with any vehicle and wall box combination. Therefore, I have chosen to use the normal Octopus Go. The issue is in the inability to do any function other than initiating an instant charging process with both my vehicle and wall box. I have attempted to use the timer function alone on the wall box, the low-cost hours feature solely on the vehicle, as well as both simultaneously. However, these attempts have had no effect or have resulted in instant charging.
