Hello, I am experiencing a problem with my e90 318i. The vehicle is displaying error code cc-id 207, indicating a central electronics failure. I have noticed that this issue temporarily resolves itself when I detach and reconnect the battery. However, after a few days or weeks, the problem reoccurs. The speedometer is not functioning, the windscreen wipers are not working, the central locking system is not operational, the steering feels heavy, and the vehicle takes longer than usual to start. Does anybody know the possible cause of it?

To get the codes and identify the logged information, it is recommended that you do a scan using diagnostic software, preferably ISTA.

The OBD port is non-functional when I encounter the problem, which I neglected to mention.

The potential cause of the issue might be the failure of the primary relay located in the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) compartment. Specifically, the faulty component is likely to be a blue relay, which is quite affordable to replace. It is advisable to replace it in order to determine whether it resolves the problem. I am experiencing the same problem. Please measure the voltage between the jump start terminals located in the engine compartment. The voltage reading of my vehicle reaches 15.7 volts while the engine is operating, which exceeds the acceptable range. This is likely due to a malfunctioning voltage regulator, resulting in the shutdown of various modules and the activation of many warning lights. I will inform you if the arrival of the new regulator resolves the issues.

The problem has been resolved with the installation of the new voltage regulator. Unfortunately, the battery being completely drained and the subsequent attempt to jump start the vehicle seems to have caused a corruption in the FRM, adding another problem that has to be addressed.

On my E90 335i, I had a problem that took BMW many weeks to diagnose. Fortunately, the issue was covered by warranty. It was ultimately determined that the parking sensor module was the culprit.
