Experiencing an unusual issue after replacing the steering wheel (maybe unrelated). I have just replaced my S5 steering wheel with a B8 RS5 steering wheel. Both adaptive airbags are present, with the RS5 wheel being of Type 1 rather than Type 2. No defects or problems are detected in this. Upon removing the battery for about one hour in order to install the wheel, it was observed that after reconnecting the battery and completing the task, the window and central locking menus in the MMI system were disabled and available only when the ignition was in position 2. When the ignition is in position 1, they change back to the colour orange.

The scans reveal two faults. The first issue, with code 03157, pertains to intermittent communication in the 5F module. The second error is related to a missing Charisma switch in the Central electronics module. This failure is predicted as the car does not have the necessary buttons for drive choose. Other malfunctions were evident, but they have been resolved by installing a new battery, since the previous one, although being dated 2010, was still functional. Despite using the capacitive discharge method, I am still unable to resolve this problem, even after replacing the battery. The green menu is fully operational with accurate configurations. The car did not experience any problems before the wheel was changed or the battery was disconnected. Does anybody have any suggestions on potential sources or strategies to address this issue? Currently experiencing a state of repetitiveness and lack of progress.

The Auto HVAC problem has been resolved by installing a new battery.

All the windows and locks function well, but I am unable to modify the settings on the MMI system.

If the settings in the MMI are disabled, it indicates that modifications need to be made in the green menu.

All of them were engaged and functioning until the battery was disconnected and the steering wheel was replaced. Immediately after reconnecting the battery, I had many abnormal DCTs, most of which are been resolved after replacing the battery, even though the old battery from 2010 was still functional. This issue is the only one that survives. I have thoroughly explored the green menu and found that the central locking system is currently enabled and set to level 5. However, I have not found a menu in the CAR DEVICE section specifically for controlling the windows, which is unclear to me. There are no communication concerns, thus it is unlikely that there are damaged cables at the back of the automobile. Is it possible that the steering wheel and airbag are the cause of the problem? The only distinction lies in the fact that the B8 RS5 was equipped with an adaptive type 1 airbag, rather than an adaptive type 2 airbag. Perplexed!!

Attempt to revert back to the S5 steering wheel and see whether it provides any assistance. Additionally, it is necessary to do a scan of the can in order to identify any fault codes that may have been triggered.

The scan log is included in the first post. There are no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present in the airbag and steering wheel modules.

Yes, I have experienced it. Everything is accurate as it should be. Everything was functioning correctly before the steering wheel was replaced, and the issue did not arise from modifying the settings in GEM or VCDS.
