The drivetrain warning light on my 2013 330d X3 has shown twice in the past without any apparent difficulties. However, the warning light went when I stopped and restarted the vehicle. The previous occurrence of this light was approximately 2 months ago, and there were no problems at that time. However, last night, the EML light appeared again, causing the car to go into complete limp mode. I promptly took it to a garage, where it was connected to a diagnostic tool to retrieve the codes. The diagnostic tool indicated a DPF issue, which is puzzling to me because the car regularly travels long distances. After clearing the codes, the warning light disappeared. However, now the drivetrain light only appears when I drive uphill. I am wondering if there is a connection between the DPF and drivetrain warning lights. Has anybody else had this problem?

It is difficult to determine without knowledge of the specific codes being shown.
Even with frequent lengthy travels, a diesel particulate filter (DPF) might get obstructed if there are underlying problems.

Thank you for providing the codes.

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) or Digital Motor Electronics (DME) and Digital Diesel Electronics (DDE) have a total of 7 units. On the other hand, the Electronic Gearbox Control Unit (EGE) has 0 units.

The values are 25C800, 245700, and 2AB500.

Presumably, these are the codes to which you are alluding.

It seems like you attempted to ignore the issue, as many people do. I suggest getting it scanned since there may be codes associated with the problem.

Thank you for scanning it. I was only enquiring if anybody has encountered this issue previously or had knowledge about it, in order to have a better understanding. I am unfamiliar with codes and need assistance.

Many individuals may have had the drivetrain/EML issue, which may be attributed to a wide range of error codes. Therefore, it is important to note that one person's problem may vary significantly from another's. It is necessary to scan your document in order to identify the specific codes that are being flagged.

The 25c800 (dpf sensor) and 2ab500 (boost sensor) are the primary sensors to focus on, since they are responsible for triggering the code 245700, which indicates a severely blocked dpf.
An ideal approach would include executing an ISTA test plan to narrow down the issues. This plan would systematically perform a set of test routines for each code and provide a probable explanation for the problem.

Thank you for your assistance. I will bring this to the garage and request the aforementioned test.
