Satellite navigation location error

The Satnav on my 2017 e350d Estate indicates that I am now travelling many miles east of Ipswich, in the North Sea. I am now located in South West London, United Kingdom. This occurred two years ago when it mistakenly believed I was in Germany. It rectified itself a few months later and has functioned correctly since then, so I dismissed it thereafter. What is the reason of this error? In May 2022, I sent an online support inquiry to Mercedes-Benz but got no response. Could this result from an over-the-air map update? I have manually updated the map using a USB stick, but the issue remains unresolved.

What is the number of satellites detected by the unit?

It is locating 13 satellites.

Have you attempted to reset the device?

Thirteen satellites are required to provide a precise position.

Indeed, I attempted a reset; it has not been beneficial.

I had a 2016 E350 S212, which I acquired new, and encountered this issue around three months after acquisition; it was determined that the antenna was defective and required replacement.

The news was unfavourable. Mercedes, in their discretion, omitted connections near the fitting, necessitating the dealership to lower the roof lining to do the repair. The vehicle was retained for a day and a half, since this was the first instance seen with a full wire extending the length of the automobile.

Best of luck in resolving your concerns.

Thank you for the valuable information! I purchased another unit during the last incident but had not installed it before the system began functioning properly. I will install it in a few months if the issue has not resolved itself. I assume it is located inside the casing of the driver's mirror, and I wish to ascertain how to access it.
