Greetings, everyone.
I own a 2020 GLE 300d acquired new. The start/stop mechanism has consistently proved unreliable; nonetheless, it fails to operate entirely at cooler temperatures. The dealership reiterated the specifications and said that the system functioned properly when the battery was charged. The battery charge has been exhausted.
Does anybody possess expertise in charging the start/stop battery? Recommendations on which model to purchase would be appreciated.
The majority of my travels occur in traffic, hence I would benefit from the system functioning well.
Thank you very much.

The primary battery must be charged for the stop-start system to function. Your GLE is likely equipped with a capacitor pack located in the passenger side floor, which powers several systems when the vehicle is stationary. They seem to have a lifespan of around 4 to 5 years before perishing.
I recommend purchasing a smart charger from eBay for around £12 and connecting it to the jumper points while the vehicle is not in use.
I have just installed a new Bosch battery in my GLC350, and the stop-start function has been operational since then. The capacitor pack has been generating errors after the modification, indicating auxiliary battery breakdown every 10 seconds on the dashboard. It is scheduled for tomorrow under warranty.

Thank you. The dealership verified that the battery is functioning well and that the system will operate effectively after prolonged use, which I am currently not doing often.

Halfords has this item, which seems to meet my requirements, although it is quite expensive:

Are you suggesting that a conventional battery charger will suffice?
Thank you.
Thank you.

No, I specified a smart charger. One that will conduct the AGM. Charge it rather than doing extended runs.

Do you often operate in gliding mode?

Thank you. I previously used the vehicle in E mode, but I was informed that this prevents the battery from charging. I now use C and have configured the display to show real-time MPG, allowing me to monitor the charging status.
Will this be effective? Merely a little more orderly:

I placed an order for that item yesterday.
