Battery for key fob?

One of my key fobs has ceased functioning for keyless entry; however, it operates when I manually press the button after rummaging through my bag. I suspect it is time to replace the battery, which I believed was addressed during the last service, conducted less than a year ago and with minimal usage. The fob has been stored in a Faraday box. I digress; which batteries do you recommend?
I have never changed one; it has always been performed during service. I believe I heard that the coating for newborns is now ineffective in fobs, or did I imagine it?

Any CR2032 battery will do; I use the most economical options, which last around 60% as long as the premium variants, although are priced at less than one-tenth of their cost! Visit your local discount store; we have Boyes here, which offers a variety of products. I just purchased a strip of ten for around one pound. I purchased many strips before, hence I have not made a purchase in a couple of years.

The Bitrex coating is used by some manufacturers to deter consumption; nonetheless, I have already advised you against ingesting batteries. It should not impact their functionality; however, you may cleanse the battery with alcohol beforehand if you have concerns.

It is evident from this discussion that fob batteries are often not replaced during service by JLR dealerships, despite being included in the schedule and shown as completed. I ponder what further matters they evade. Confused and frustrated.

Land Rover Assist addressed my problem on their visit for a separate matter. Did not want to be dismissed by the merchant.

I purchased a two-pack of Duracell batteries; they are reasonably priced. Dividing the casing may need much trust, however it has more strength than anticipated.

The batteries were not replaced at the previous service by the dealer, despite my reminders to do so. I have contacted them twice since then, and on both occasions, they assured me that they will send the items. I am still awaiting their arrival since August 28th.

I suspect they did not evaluate mine either, since they do not get much feedback. However, unlike you, I did not annotate mine; I will do so for the next one, learning from the expert. I have now altered it, or rather, I had a guy (Mr. A) do the modification, and it works well. I have never had to replace a battery fob in the approximately twelve years of owning a Land Rover
