Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and hope you are all doing well.
I possess a 2013 BMW X5 35d. Initially, the vehicle functioned properly; however, during a highway drive to Alberta, the transmission failed unexpectedly. After turning off the engine and restarting it, the transmission operated normally. I had replaced the transmission fluid, which added to the perplexity of the situation. Subsequently, I consulted a transmission specialist who informed me that the clutch E and C were defective, necessitating the installation of a new transmission. Additionally I attempted to reboot the iDrive, but it was ineffective. I connected a scanner to the system and retrieved the following codes from the iDrive or related system. I conducted a screen colour test using my scanner, which only displayed white and no other colours. Consequently, the test results indicated failure. I am uncertain which module has malfunctioned and requires replacement. I consulted Alldata for the code, but no information is available. I am uncertain if it is worthwhile to repair it or to replace the whole screen system and furthermore install a backup camera. Please assist me with this and provide some guidance or advise, if possible.

What is the age of the battery?
As they begin to age, they may generate several erroneous trouble codes.
Was desire only a thought?

The battery is likely rather old; nonetheless, might it cause the screen to display red? It functioned well a few days after purchase. What do you mean by 'lust'?

It seems that the head unit is malfunctioning. Replacing the screen with an aftermarket Android model, as you seem to be considering, would not resolve the issue as the primary head unit is still required for functionality.

Indeed, it was my consideration. Is there a method to evaluate the head unit? I understand there are many modules; how can I ascertain which one is malfunctioning?

The primary unit will alone be responsible for the heating controls, without involvement from any other modules.
Aside from dispatching it for testing and repair, I believe there is no method to evaluate it.
Over the years, I have had many packages prepared; there are locations in the UK and one in Romania that executed an excellent job on a shipment I entrusted to them.

I assert there must be such locations in your vicinity.

Affirmative. Could I substitute it with a second-hand item? Furthermore, how can I ascertain that it is really the issue? I am reluctant to dispatch it just to encounter the same difficulty again.

It is possible to fit second-hand items, however it is extremely probable that coding will be required.
Unless you possess expertise in evaluating electrical components or PCBs, I believe there is no viable method.

Certainly, I can do some preliminary tests on the PCBs; but, might it be a loose connection? It has a video connection code. Why am I unable to find such codes in any database or search engine? It is peculiar; do you have any insights on this matter?
