2021 Sportage Apple Car Play : no phone icon

I have lately acquired a 2021 Sportage. Connecting to Apple Car Play via USB works yet there is no green phone symbol

When attempting to make a call, it indicates that I must download an application. I can make phone calls using the automobile system (except Apple CarPlay), so that capability is operational.

No phone symbol appears while attempting to modify Apple CarPlay in the options.

Do you have any recommendations for obtaining the phone icon?

I am not an Apple owner so this may be a bunch of tosh. Rebooting the media system will not do any damage; the button is concealed behind a tiny aperture in the fascia next to the rotary control. Have you set up your phone to vehicle Bluetooth link? Is the vehicle equipped with the most recent August media system update?

No i think the S/W is not up to date (the built in Nav system is not as get a notification when use it) so will be downloading it today once have a USB stick that big enough to contain the update so hope this helps

Have you gone into the CarPlay settings on your phone. Select the vehicle likely designated as Kia, then go to Customise, ensuring that the Phone is included inside the applications.
These options allow you to rearrange and remove any applications you choose to exclude from the CarPlay homescreen of the vehicle

Indeed, I have examined that; nonetheless, the green phone symbol is absent from the list of applications.

The iOS on the phone is current.

It must be an issue with the phone.
Have you tried resetting the customised list, restarting the phone, and uninstalling the Kia profile from CarPlay?

Have removed the Kia Profile so will try connecting again

The option to add new ads is disabled.

No success after the deletion of the profile and subsequent reconnection.

Can the phone functionalities in the automobile be used without a USB connection?
