I listened to a podcast titled Fuelling Around with Russell Kane discussing his favourite automobiles. He is an entertaining person, so I was intrigued by his insights, since I was unaware of his love in vehicles.

He discussed the excessive expenditure of money and effort on his automobiles (guilty!) but also expressed a preference for the 5 Series over the vintage 3 Series, citing the inclusion of more 'subtle executive enhancements.' I am enquiring if anybody has opinions on this matter. Because that is a perspective I did not personally consider.

The 5 Series has consistently shown superior construction and more luxury as standard, and it is generally more equipped than the 3 Series. Typically, purchasers of a new 3 Series do not choose for the more luxurious features.

Indeed, you are correct! It is logical for Kane, then, hehe.

It is logical to conclude: 7 Series > 5 Series > 3 Series > 1 Series. The specifications of 1980s Datsuns surpassed those of the E30 or Mercedes 190.

I have experienced both at comparable intervals and throughout various generations, and the Five Series consistently seemed to be better constructed and a superior option. The current distinction seems to have diminished, to be fair.

The 5 is just superior. Model for model, enhanced specifications, larger, more sophisticated, etc. More sales executives vs salesmen, indeed.
