Can someone assist me in diagnosing this issue? It is likely a poor remap, however I am uncertain whether it has been remapped; yet, the Engine Management Light (EML) just began to illuminate after the air filter replacement. However, if I accelerate rapidly (from about 20 mph), the needed air intake doubles, as does the turbo speed, which is my primary concern. However, toggling the ignition off and on resolves the issue temporarily till I drive with aggression once again. The garage conducted a smoke test for leaks and reported no findings. Photo 1 is inactive; photo 2 remains inactive subsequent to the occurrence of the problem. When I deactivate the engine with the error amecurt, the 'HFM Air Flow' remains at 67 kg/hr. The following photographs pertain to mistakes and error memory. What may potentially result in the air intake doubling at idle speed?

Remove it and reinsert; the filters are somewhat intricate to install, requiring the whole plastic shell to fit securely.

Attempted a second air filter and reseated it twice. However, it would hardly result in a doubling of the airflow.

I would assert that it has undergone an inadequate remapping to exhibit such behaviour.

Are you aware of the cost associated with updating the software from BMW? I drive 50 miles daily to go to work. I will be 29 in a week and am indifferent to the pace of acceleration, provided I reach the desired speed.

There is a minor update: when the problem occurs, the EGR control value percentage is -14, and the EGR goal value is -10%.I read on another site that someone had the same problem and error when the coolant reached 60°C. They claimed that replacing the air filter resolved the issue. I have attempted that one. I revved the engine while in park, noting that the problem occurred at a coolant temperature of 66°C. The air intake returned to normal, and the EGR is operational.
Another update: Lambda sensor (from LSU) 0 reads 4.x, but lambda sensor (from LSU) 1 consistently reads 0. Do you have any suggestions? No problems detected in the lambda sensors.

I underwent a remapping process that increased fuel delivery at high RPMs, necessitating a corresponding increase in air intake. This was data logged using ISTA while driving with an independent specialist, and subsequently sent to Jason at BWChiptune. He diagnosed an excessive fuel issue, which caused the vehicle to enter limp mode at 130 mph with the accelerator fully depressed. Notably, this was a map originally created by Jason, which contained minor errors; however, unlike many tuners who might dismiss such issues, he acknowledged and rectified the problem.

I understand; I purchased it without having it tuned. I have scheduled software upgrades for the ECU with BMW and will keep everyone informed.
